| The Transtrite system
uses a very compact GPS engine board which receives the location
coordinates in real time through an external antenna and communicates
with the microcontroller through an onboard RS232 port. The
microcontroller commands it to poll at a set frequency. The
system uses the latitude, longitude, speed and time information
from the GPS for relaying to the control center. The system
uses a GSM modem for transmitting the location coordinates to
the control center via SMS. Additionally the hardware is capable
of initiating voice calls to the control center through the
modem and also receive calls from the control center. |
